THE SIXTEENTH

for Pirata Group Hong Kong
Quarry Bay is one of Hong Kong's most business-focused neighbourhoods. The brief was simple: change that.
Spread across 18,000 square feet of a Grade-A office tower in Taikoo Place, The Sixteenth became Pirata Group's most ambitious project to date and the beginning of a major partnership with property multinational Swire. The challenge was deciding what to do with all that space. The answer was four completely distinct worlds, each one a place you'd never expect to find yourself in Quarry Bay.
La Favorita sweeps you into a flamboyant Italian trattoria of red booths, dramatic drapes and ornamental excess. Honjokko is the opposite, a high-end sushi club, quietly seductive. TMK Funk & Rolls throws you headfirst into a 70s temakeria, all funk and colour. And Tempo Tempo spills outside onto a terrace of lemon trees, candy stripes and fairy lights, feeling nothing like the office tower above it.
Over 400 covers. Four concepts. Concept to completion in under 90 days. Swire was thrilled, and the partnership has continued ever since.
The Sixteenth closed in 2023. It was a good one.
